GO AGAIN. I HEAR THE SOUND OF THE ABUNDANCE OF RAIN!

A STORY OF FAITH

How is your faith tank?

It's time for a refuel.

Come with me.

Let's walk through the faith of Elijah over a land HE LOVED.

1 Kings 18:41

Jubilee Bible 2000
Then Elijah said to Ahab, Go up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain.

Rain was something that the city had not experienced in that time.

For 3 1/2 years at the word of Elijah the prophet, there was no rain on the land.

The subject today  isn't the context, but the outcome.

Elijah the prophet prayed. The rains were dried up.

3 1/2 years went by.

The prophet prayed again for it to rain.

FAITH

Sent his servant to look and there was nothing.

YET....

Let's read the account.

The End of the Drought

41 Then Elijah said to King Ahab, “Now, go and eat. I hear the roar of rain approaching.”42 (B)While Ahab went to eat, Elijah climbed to the top of Mount Carmel, where he bowed down to the ground, with his head between his knees. 43 He said to his servant, “Go and look toward the sea.”

The servant went and returned, saying, “I didn't see a thing.” Seven times in all Elijah told him to go and look. 44 The seventh time he returned and said, “I saw a little cloud no bigger than a man's hand, coming up from the sea.”

Elijah ordered his servant, “Go to King Ahab and tell him to get in his chariot and go back home before the rain stops him.”

45 In a little while the sky was covered with dark clouds, the wind began to blow, and a heavy rain began to fall. Ahab got in his chariot and started back to Jezreel. 46 The power of the Lord came on Elijah; he fastened his clothes tight around his waist and ran ahead of Ahab all the way to Jezreel.

FAITH ACTIVATED.

By faith rain was coming to the land.

The prophet knew God would honor the word and it would come to pass.

7 times he put his head between his knees.

praying.

7 times he sent his servant to look again for EVIDENCE of the rain.

On the 7th time, it came!

A cloud the size of a man's hand appeared.

By the time he made it from the top of Mount Carmel all the way to Jezreel, it was pouring!

The power of God fell upon Elijah and he was running all the way there!

What do you think happened to the cracked thirsty ground when the rains came?

 New LIFE began to emerge!

People and lands are God's idea. He desires both to be filled with new life.

REMEMBERANCE:

I remember a story my spiritual father told of revival starting.

Out of an entire room of people...

Fire fell on this one woman.

Dad turns to mom and says: we got it.

God answered his cry for revival by fire falling upon a hungry daughter.

1 is all it takes.

Dad could SEE the greater blessing hidden within the 1 in which God touched.

He understood the breaker anointing and the divine blessing that was being given by that 1 experience.

Back to the story of Elijah

Elijah loved the land he was serving.

He wanted to see the land blessed. He was sown into the land ahead of time for the great harvest that was on the way. Rain was God's blessing upon the land.

Once again the scripture shows the procession.

Verse 45 :In a little while the sky was covered with dark clouds, the wind began to blow, and a heavy rain began to fall.

Wind.

Directional Wind.

SAW

Look on the map.

HEARD

Use the compass.

Place: called Jezreel.

I looked it up. It means GOD sows seed.

 WOWW!!!

So what do you think happened to the seeds once the rain started?

This season, I see a harvest for the faithful who have not taken a position of begging off but have put their head between their knees ( prayer) and said: GO AGAIN. I HEAR THE SOUND OF THE ABUNDANCE OF RAIN.

You are good ground for GOD.

He keeps His promises.

Its coming.

I HEAR the sound of the abundance of rain!
