Altar of REMEMBERANCE

from my blog February 19th 2012

ALTAR OF REMEMBERANCE
 TO REMEMBER
This is what remeberance means:

remembrance [ri-mem
-bruhns] Show IPA
Part of Speech: noun
Definition: memory, recollection
Synonyms: afterthought, anamnesis, flash*, flashback, hindsight, mental image, mind, recall, recognition, reconstruction, regard, reminiscence, retrospect, thought
Antonyms: forgotten

In Genesis, the word remember is used 8 times, and in the whole I found what appears to be at least 217 if not more times the word remember is used in God's Word. When I looked at the antonym, it showed me WHY it is sooo important! If we fail to call to mind the things that Jesus has spoken or is speaking, then we not know what to remember and thus... we will forget. If we do not persistently talk, think, chew, meditate and ponder on what He has said and is saying, then how will our children know?

What ALTAR OF REMEMBERANCE are you building for your family today?

My heart was stirred when I looked up pictures of the word: altar of rememberance, because it appears most do it to honor someone who has died, etc.

But our King has risen!

He is seated at the right hand of the Father and making intercession for us daily.(Romans 8:34)
He is raised and seated in glory and power and dominion and kingdoms were given to Him. (2Chron. 20:6, Jude 1:25, Isaiah 9:7)

His Word further states that every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father. (Phil 2:11)

Our hearts need to remember the LOGOS as well as the RHEMA of God.. Its 2 sides to the same coin. One is spoken and the other is written.
His Word says at Hebrews 4:12:

"12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."

His Word is vital for life!

What if you forgot that His Word is ALIVE?
What if you forgot that His Word is daily bread?
What if You forget to read it?

How will you pass on what it says to the next generation?

We find quotes everywhere in this world stated by amazing men and women of God. The have been given the beauty of wisdom and knowledge that comes from God alone. In quoting them, we honor them and we honor God who made them.

I love seeing people honor others. What I see missing though in much of society today is: QUOTING THE WORDS OF JESUS. If we really love someone, then what they say will matter to us. Their thoughts will be important, right?

How can we truly honor a God whom we never quote, and honor me who we daily quote?

There is nothing more beautiful than living in a culture that finds ways to bring value to others. It's a new experience for me and I am empowered by its result. We camp around His Presence!

What I live by and long for are the Words of my King. His Word is ALIVE . It is the Word that regardless of time, age, recirculation, translation, history and ages has not changed the solid meaning of its content.

Today, I challenge you to build an ALTAR OF REMEMBERANCE of LIVING Words, of things God has said, is saying to you. Beloved.... dont you know that when you remember someone, or something...it never dies? God is a God of the LIVING not the dead, for they are ALL LIVING TO HIM. That in itself is powerful.

He honors us with remembering us...let us take some time today and honor Him by remembering the precious Words He has spoken. Let's also daily seek for the Rhema He releases through those He has chosen to honor by speaking through, amen?
